This year has been an exciting year to say the least! We completed two major renovation projects on homes here in Santa Barbara - Casa Vista and Casa Plunkett, created our Cove House website, and launched our custom Vanity and Cove House Goods collections. Through it all, we’ve grown and learned so much this past year. Help us reminisce on the year 2022, and look ahead to the great things to come in 2023!
The year started out with our first major renovation project - Casa Vista. We purchased this 1945 Spanish bungalow in November of 2021 with one goal in mind: to bring it back to its former glory. The home was completely down to the studs, with zero electrical, plumbing, and walls for that matter. Throughout the six months we spent working on this project, we had fun experimenting with different tiles, flooring, marble countertops, cabinetry, hardware, and so much more. We even created custom bathroom vanities that we now sell on our website. We were thrilled with the results of Casa Vista and couldn’t wait to take on our next major renovation.
In between Casa Vista and Casa Plunkett, we were not only busy looking for new homes to renovate and sell but were also working on creating our website, and launching our Vanity and Cove House Goods collections. The goal of our website was simple: create a place where people can see who we are, and learn about our creative process, all while being able to keep up with our ongoing projects, and shop items that we love using in our own homes. From this idea, our Cove House website, Vanities shop, and Cove House Goods was born.
Cove House Goods is a curated shop with hand-picked items from us. We thought, how can we share the items we love, and the items we use not only in our projects but in our own home? From that thought, Cove House Goods came to life. We didn’t want to overwhelm the buyer with pages and pages of different items to sift through, so we carefully picked 32 of our favorite items for our shop. You can shop Cove House Goods now!
To conclude this year, we are almost done with the renovation of our most recent project - Casa Plunkett! The 1927 historical home is a Norman Cottage meets Spanish Revival style by renowned designer Joseph Plunkett. You can see these character attributes mostly in the roof of the house as it combines a shaker roof with a Spanish tile ridgeline. Like our last project, Casa Vista - a 1945 Spanish Bungalow, we want to give the home a much needed facelift while also keeping the architectural and design integrity it holds. We are so excited to share the final results in early 2023!
Thank you for following along on our journey - we know 2023 is going to be even busier than this past year and we can’t wait to share what we have planned with you all. Cheers to a prosperous new year!
