           Cove House on a Hill was nearly reduced to a shell when we first purchased it, but beneath it all was the foundation for something truly special. Originally a California ranch-style board and batten home, the project became one of our most ambitious transformations to date — and ultimately evolved into the most breathtaking retreat upon completion.

We completely reimagined the layout of the home, creating a more intentional flow that embraced both the architecture and the surrounding landscape. Warm white oak floors, a custom kitchen with a hidden butler’s pantry, and expansive bi-fold doors throughout transformed the home into a seamless indoor-outdoor sanctuary, opening to sweeping 280º mountain and ocean views.

The finished home feels like a blend of a timeless Montecito cottage and the understated romance of San Ysidro Ranch. To bring in a sense of warmth and quiet European charm, we layered in beautiful deVOL Kitchens lighting and hardware throughout the home, adding character, softness, and thoughtful detail at every turn.
